Job Description:
This role will require you to deliver our Experiential Program across Asia and Australia within Shell’s Pan-Asian region. You will be part of the Creative Solutions Asia team and responsible for delivering our experiential aspirations within our region.
Our mission is to be the ‘go-to-team’ for integrated content creation, sponsorship and experiential for the Shell Group by delivering superior creative solutions which help our Shell business partners to succeed in their brief objectives and their ROI (return on investment) aspirations of their briefs. We strive for effective, clutter-smashing creativity in everything we do and have a passion for driving new and innovative developments in the disciplines we cover.
Creative Solutions is a dynamic team of 120 communications professionals that sits within the Shell Brand Centre of Excellence. We are an internal creative business, responsible for the creation of a wide range of creative assets and integrated campaign projects – from the delivery of our iconic “Make the Future” festivals around the world to the production of world-class films, documentaries, experiential, digital, social and design work for a huge variety of Shell customers.
Manila will be a new location within the Creative Solutions (CS) network and will serve the APAC region. Other key locations already within CS exist near Shell’s core business hubs namely: Calgary, Houston, London, The Hague, Krakow, Qatar and soon a new satellite in Beijing linked to the KL office.
• The largest hub is currently in London where Shells International Head Office resides.
• Our Netherlands division is based in the corporate home of Shell – The Hague (In Netherlands).
• Krakow (PL) and Kuala Lumpur (MY) and Manila (PH) are our key hubs for future growth due to lower operational cost to serve.
HOW WE DELIVER
Creative Solutions delivers work through a combination of in-house expertise and experienced communications project managers who deliver projects through a roster of curated agencies. Our inhouse offer includes:
• Our own internal film, documentary and social team and editing suite
• 20 Senior Experiential professionals to project manage events and exhibitions (Internal and external) end to end
• Design production studio in Krakow - followed in 2020 Q2 with an extension design studio for Asia based in Manila (Print, digital, presentations, brochures, animation etc)
• Sponsorship arm in Northern America and UK
• We have new roles to enable success, notably account managers, delivery managers, deep channel ‘subject matter’ experts and Campaign Project Managers

JOB DESCRIPTION
As an Experiential and Events Project Manager, you will have a unique opportunity to manage the end-to-end process on experiential projects which are potential game changers in our industry. These projects will focus in the category of Events and Exhibitions and some Motorsports Hospitality activation.
You will be responsible for planning, organising and executing these projects through our global agency roster, and for ensuring their delivery safely, to a high standard and within budget. You will bring passion, creativity and a focus on flawless execution to deliver events which drive positive engagement and differentiate the company brand. Strong financial skills are also essential, as you will be responsible for budgets of the event projects you own.
The ideal candidate is collaborative, flexible, has a positive attitude and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will demonstrate integrity, attention to detail and ability to get along with a diverse team. Passion for the Shell brand is key.
The position requires a dedication to stakeholder management and the ability to deliver extraordinary physical and virtual experiences. An understanding of the experiential landscape across the region will be advantageous as this role will have heavy focus on the events space.
WHAT’S EXPECTED OF YOU
• Ability to deliver world-class, highly professional events which enhance the company brand.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects ranging in complexity and scale, and from initial concept through to execution.
• Translate a brief into a vision, objectives, tasks, timings and outcomes, with the goal to meet or exceed the targets set.
• Evaluate creative event concepts and be able to coherently argue the case for or against, based on the brief and factual accuracy.
• Be a confident communicator with the gravitas to discuss and liaise with a range of different individuals, including your peers within Creative Solutions, business partners and our roster Agencies.
• Own event budgets, with a focus on managing costs and delivering savings.
• Deliver projects in accordance with company guidelines, including for health, safety and security, contracts and procurement, and brand and visual identity.
• Overall accountability and coordination onsite.
• Manage third party vendors such as venues, production houses, design, branding and security.
• Anticipate risks and develop and implement mitigation plans to overcome these.
• Bring energy, commitment and a desire to learn in a fast-paced and dynamic industry.
DIMENSIONS
• Manage event projects with an individual value of up to $3m.
• Manage multiple tasks ranging in complexity and scale, as assigned by the Experiential Lead.
• Ensure all tasks are delivered in accordance with Shell’s HSSE, Contracts and Procurement and brand guidelines.
• Coordinate third parties and vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
• Manage Issues and Risk within the projects in a proactive manner set in place action plans to keep projects on track.
• Provide strategic advise to Account Managers on cost and program implications.
• Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Support event budget management, with a focus on managing costs and delivering savings.
• Provide direction on project scope and objectives ensuring technical feasibility.
• Coordinate with third parties onsite for flawless execution of projects.
• The role may require some travel of up to 20%.
REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum 6 years events project management and production experience gained either in-house in a large organisation or in an events or creative agency.
• Extensive project management experience working on other large-scale corporate accounts essential. • Possess global work experience with multinational/multicultural exposure.
• Budget management, controlling project budgets and delivering savings driven through enterprise first behaviours.
• Track record of successful end-to-end delivery of event projects, from briefing and conceptualisation through to onsite management, execution and evaluation.
• Provide strategic insight and thought leadership into creating world-class Events and Exhibitions with best-in-class content, activation & amplification. • Experience working on virtual, tradeshow and large-scale events across the APAC region.
• Track record in managing multiple suppliers and vendors.
• Managing individual event budgets of $100k and above. • Contributing to engagements with stakeholders and able to drive decisions making. • A team player and able to work remotely across region with other cultures.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across all levels.
• Ability to prioritise large workloads; and share learnings across diverse global team.
• Excellent communications, presentation, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• A clear head and the ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Additional expertise in other creative disciplines such as design, film, digital, social media and photography is desirable.
