Responsibilities

The Senior Wellness Coach explains, educates, reinforces, and coaches members on their tailored self-help plans. Identifies problems, sets goals, and determines the individual's health status based on assessment. Establishes goals for each individual regarding educational and health care needs. Communicates with primary care and/or treating physician to request specific health information and/or to provide an update of an individual's health care status. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree

3 or more years' experience in health and wellness coaching in a corporate or health care setting

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Excellent keyboard and web navigation skills

Strong organizational skills - able to manage deadlines, multiple tasks, and priorities simultaneously

Ability to serve as a facilitator of people's behavior change, not be the expert and/or educator

Committed to continuous learning and development

Ability to shift focus and quickly adapt to change as needed

Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role). A minimum standard speed of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) is required.

A dedicated home office space, with a locked door, lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Preferred Qualifications

One or more years of experience on a 'Experience Delivery Coaching Team'

5 or more years' experience in health and wellness coaching

Current NBC-HWC Certification or eligibility

Master's Degree in Health Sciences

Bilingual in Spanish and English
