Our Global HR team partners with our business leaders to attract, retain, and develop Hilton's most important asset, our Team Members.

What will I be doing?

Reporting to the VP of Human Resources, the Sr Director, Human Resources and Talent Acquisition serves as a business partner to the regions’ senior leadership team and drives CALA’s overall HR and Recruiting strategy within the assigned area, including legal compliance, labor relations, compensation and benefits, Team Member relations, training, succession planning, and HR operations. Crafts a comprehensive Talent Acquisition and retention strategy ensuring the HR plans align with global and regional priorities and uses company-wide resources as we continue to grow. Is hands-on and involved in the generalist functions for Human Resources within the countries and areas assigned. Responds to all government and third-party-related inquiries and claims for field operations. Establishes strong partnerships with head office, regional offices, property managers, and area ops leadership teams to ensure alignment to our culture and core values, ensuring HR Policies meet the legal expectations of the country, province/state, and local government.

More specifically, you will:

Advances Hilton’s culture and purpose to ensure each hotel is a great place to work.

Collaborates and leverages relationships and resources across the matrix organization to achieve key priorities.

Is interpersonal and actively maintains positive relationships and communications with Vice Presidents, Regional Directors, GMs, HR consultants, and property teams while keeping leadership fully informed of HR changes.

Accurately diagnoses organizational issues and strategizes with wider teams to develop solutions and tactics.

Acts as a senior-level advisor on HR issues, providing research, development, and communication of HR Policies and Procedures.

Establishes credibility throughout the region and across partners- known to be an effective listener and problem solver.

Engages and partners with Centers of Excellence (e.g., Recruitment, Compensation, Legal, Training, etc.) to ensure efficient deployment and access to resources within the region.

Acts as an expert in all HR matters including labor relations, government, and third-party concerns while maintaining positive relationships with local union representatives and assisting in adjusting grievances.

Investigates and responds to all government and third-party inquiries and charges as required by locally mandated labor laws and statutes for all field locations.

Conducts and follows through on Team Member/labor relations activities not limited to investigations, systems reviews, and Team Member climate studies.

Leads the development of training on HR issues and provides HR guidance to the properties, orienting new leadership to HR function and explaining HR policies, procedures, benefits, etc, as established in our operational policies and procedures.

Enforces established HR Policies and Procedures in all field locations by ensuring the completion of HR Audits/ Reviews for properties assigned.

Assesses current recruiting and hiring processes and implements strategies to generate rich talent pools and a healthy pipeline of talent across the CALA region.

Leads the research, development, implementation, and management of the Process/TMX integration and Recruiting CRM.

Actively presents ideas, leads the development and implementation of new projects, programs, and annual objectives.

Leads the HR Data and People Analysis Project Team in the creation of people metrics and reports.

Verifies TMX (HRIS) information for the management database and reports for strategic decision-making on HR-related matters such as wages and compensation, succession management, etc.

What are we looking for?

The success in this role will demonstrate itself through the following attributes and skills:

Experience crafting and implementing successful talent acquisition strategies as a leader within Recruiting/Talent Acquisition.

Requires solid knowledge of union environments, employment laws, regulations, and HR guidelines in an international hotel hospitality environment.

Must be culturally sensitive, display high interpersonal skills, and be comfortable with the caveats and complexities of the Caribbean/Latin American market.

Solid knowledge of electronic/digital/ social media platforms.

Excellent communication, owner relations, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to build compelling strategic presentations to influence and persuade different audiences in Spanish and English.

Experience within a Corporate or Matrix organization.

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

Ten (10) years of experience in Human Resources

Five (5) years of experience in hotel operations managing large employee populations, preferably with a multi-location hospitality employer

Must be fully bilingual (English/Spanish). Able to conduct business in both languages seamlessly

Travel 60%
