Description
The Wellness Product Design, Development & Strategy Professional 2 discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements to existing products or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. The Wellness Product Design, Development & Strategy Professional 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
Responsibilities
A Wellness Educator will be responsible for promoting, presenting and managing various health and wellness presentations designed for health plan members, and aimed at bringing information on exercise, nutrition, disease prevention, among others topics specifically to the Medicare population. The Wellness Educator will facilitate and present prepared topics at various locations, such as wellness centers, providers offices, and other community locations to improve or maintain this populations health by engaging in behaviors that promote positive healthy outcomes. Requires regular travel to conduct on-site presentations throughout the Florida market. Additionally they should be able to understand department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Ability to makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance.
Wellness Educator leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Develops design briefs for new product ideas, including specifications, sketches and/or models to present a clear, focused concept for strategic consideration. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Health Education or Public Health or Health related field.
Fully Bilingual English/Spanish. Must be able to speak, read and write in both languages without limitations or assistance. If selected for the position, you will be required to take a Language Proficiency Assessment in English/Spanish. See Additional Information on testing
2-3 years of experience with wellness educations programs
2 years of Experience designing and developing wellness presentations using MS PowerPoint - Candidates will be required to present at time of the interview process.
2 years Experience leading the development and adoption of cross functional strategies that are ambitious and actionable
Prior project management or product management experience
Proven analytical skills and database reporting utilizing MS Excel and Access
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong relationship building skills and be able to work independently
Familiarity with product development processes
Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel)
Valid driver's license with reliable transportation and the ability to travel within the Florida region up to 75% of the time
Capable of facilitating/demonstrating low impact activities or stretching exercises during member presentations.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from a top-tier program
Certified Health Education specialist (CHES) certification highly preferred. You will be required to get the certification in the first 12 months of employment
Insurance or Healthcare experience
Corporate strategy or strategy consulting experience preferred
Familiarity with user-centered design methodologies
Knowledge of Humana's internal policies, procedures and systems
Additional Information
Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Overtime and the ability to work some weekends as needed
Training: 4 weeks total - 1 week in South Florida Miami-Dade county and the remaining 3 weeks of training virtually or in at the Orlando CarePlus office
Work Location (Address): This permanent job is working from Home temporary due to Covid 19 emergency. This position will deploy to the following location at a future date: 2966 Commerce Park Drive Suite 300 Orlando, FL 32819
Note: Intermittent Work at Home flexibility with successful training and job performance after 6 months.
Travel: 75 % of time to North and South Florida to conduct presentations in that region as well as attend department/company meetings & events up to 6 times per year (every other month).
Language Proficiency Testing (English/Spanish): Any Humana associate who speaks with a member in a language other than Spanish and/or English must take a language proficiency assessment, provided by an outside vendor, to ensure competency. Applicants will be required to take the Interagency Language Rating (ILR) test as provided by the Federal Government
