ob Summary
Register and/or admit patients to Sandoval Regional Medical Center. Obtain and enter into the system all information necessary to create a complete and accurate patient account. Ensure that appropriate and necessary notifications are made to insurance carriers or agencies. Advise, inform and assist patients before, during and after their date of service. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.
Essential Functions:
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES - Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and quality assurance programs
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops.
Responsible for Orienting and training of staff
Responsible to know HIPAA, EMTALA, State and CMS registration regulations
Maintain knowledge of fin counseling programs
Responsible for maintaining the co-pay collection rates as set out by the department.
Responsible for creating registration and admitting guidelines
Monitor and order supplies for ED reg
Assist Supervisor as needed
Serve in an on call role
Responsible for all PAR duties across the span of SRMC Patient Access
Participate in the discipline process with the area Supervisor.
Timekeeping duties and scheduling.
Represent Patient Access and SRMC at meetings as needed.
Perform other job duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent (must be able to obtain an associates within 30 months of start date.)
Licenses/Certifications
: Must obtain Notary Public in 6 months of starting the position
Work Experience:
registration, admitting, business office or related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Associates degree preferred
Work Experience:
Bilingual English/Spanish
Three (3) years of Admitting, Patient Access, Registration or related work in the health care industry.
Previous leadership experience preferred

Conditions of Employment
Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check and a post offer drug screen.
Must be employment eligible as verified by the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) and the Government Services Administration (GSA).
Tuberculin Skin Test required annually
Working Conditions
Typical office and/or patient care, acute care hospital environment.
Must be able to travel locally between facilities and within the surrounding community.
Occasional exposure to minimal physical risk
